A5 Insider’s Guide: Sean Moran

10 years ago Sean Moran helped found the Parade Company’s Big Head Corps and this year he will walk in the parade as the Head Honcho.

Sean Moran is a bonafide Detroit booster. A graduate of University of Detroit-Mercy, former president of the Detroit Athletic Club, co-founder of RacquetUp Detroit, Sean has spent years giving back to the city and its residents.  He founded the Big Head Corps with a group of friends and over the years they have restored over 100 Big Heads and created over 10 new Heads. This Thanksgiving, Sean will don his bulldog Big Head and carry on a holiday tradition. We wanted to know where the city’s Head Honcho likes to eat, drink and play in Detroit.

EAT // Lafayette Coney Island

I am old school, so my favorite place to eat is Lafayette Coney Island. I get 2 loose, chili cheese fries, and a Vernors.

DRINK // Town Pump Taven

This is the place where old meets young and the past meets the future.  The service has always been very friendly, and the drink pour is what it should be at a bar.  Sleeper good food too! The Pump has been in the game before the game even started!

PLAY // Comerica Park

I enjoy the outdoor experience of the Detroit Tigers and Comerica Park.  I am an avid Tiger and baseball fan, and the stadium is very welcoming.  I love the mid-week 7:00 p.m. game with family or friends, a few hot dogs, beverages, and take in some Tiger baseball…picture perfect night in Detroit.

EXPERIENCE // Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Thanksgiving Parade is the most unifying event the city each year.  I love that all Detroiters come together as one and celebrate life!  The parade made quite the impression on me as a young child, we did not have much but we had Thanksgiving Day Parade curbside seats once per year…VIP!

Detroit is Home!  Detroiters have grit, determination, compassion, and common Sense.  We don’t accept defeat, we refuse to give in, and we are educated by our past, and excited about our future.  Detroit is the combination of all of us individually.  We are Detroit.
