Forty-fifth Annual Bal Africain Sat, Aug 2

Save the date! The Friends of African and African American Art (FAAAA) present their annual fundraiser, Bal Africain, on Saturday, August 2. This years gala features a distinguished African American jazz artist as the honoree, with a special Cool Jazz After Dark guest artist.

This years Bal, entitled Jazz: An African American Art Form, promotes a deeper appreciation and understanding of the classic artistic legacy of African American jazz artists. Considered one of the most glamorous events of the summer, Bal Africain has attracted more than 500 guests.

Proceeds raised through Bal Africain are used by the FAAAA to acquire significant African and African American works of art to add to the DIAs collection, as well as to sponsor artist lectures and fund educational programs.
