Los Zafiros showing at the DFT
Mixing traditional Afro-Cuban elements with impossibly smooth vocal harmonies (think early Platters or Beatles) all packaged with Motown inspired fashion and choreography, Los Zafiros defined 1960s Cuban youth and optimism. Los Zafiros captures their spirit through vintage films of studio performances and tours to the Soviet Union, combined with interviews by surviving members Cancio and Galban who now play with the Buena Vista Social Club. (90 minutes)
