Just on the verges of opening night, Zazios in Birmingham promises big things as they bring out the best in Italian dining. Joining a number of award-winning restaurants in downtown Birmingham, Zazios is sure to fit right in with everything from a Chef's Table broadcasting food production from their bi-level kitchen to a weekly blog from the chef featuring cooking tips. Hours: Monday through Thursday 5-10 p.m., Friday through Saturday 5-11 p.m., and Sunday 5-9 p.m. They are located at 34977 Woodward in Birmingham.
Already on its way to the Best of Detroit list, Red Smoke Barbecue in Greektown has wasted no time making a name for itself. The newly renovated spot on Monroe Street is decked out in beautiful woods with an extensive and impressive menu to boot. Located at 537 Monroe Street, Detroit MI (313) 962-2100.
Returning to what was once known as their hometown city, Shield's Pizza is expected to pop up around the Grand Circus Park Area. With a prime location, just blocks away from Comerica Park, Ford Field, The Fox and Fillmore, Shields should have no problem sticking around for some time. Located next door to Cliff Bells and close to the Kales Building and Park Apartments, here's to hoping they stay around this time. Keep your eyes peeled as construction has started but no completion dates have been named.
