Don't Let Her be the Fun Police
So your friends are telling you that your girlfriend has you whipped. If any of these examples apply to you then they're probably right. There is no particular order because if you have done any of the following, then you're in trouble.
Say good -bye to your little black book. You used to be the guy who could bring over the ladies at a party. The one who knew all the girls and could talk to anyone. Well not any more. Your girlfriend has thrown away that special book and now glares at you when you even look at another woman.
No more guys' night out with your friends. Remember the days when you would go out to the bars and watch the game with your boys? You can kiss those days good-bye. You need to spend more quality time with your lady.
Your taste and style has changed recently. You are no longer the jeans and T-shirt guy. You have that metro-sexual look now. You used to like action packed movies with gunfights and massive destruction. Now you like The Notebook and other chick flick movies. You used to be a man now you're just 'that guy'. What happened?
Along with your style changing, your personality has changed significantly. You used to crack jokes with buddies, drink beer, eat chips and talk about girls. Now you're more sophisticated, drinking wine, going out to fancy restaurants and talking only about your wife. Your friends want the old you back, the you who used to be fun.
If you have ever used any of these terms you are officially 'whipped': smoochie", "angel", "muffin" and/or "pumpkin. If you want to call yourself a man, never use these words.
How many times a day does your girlfriend call you? Will she get upset if you don't answer your phone and make you explain that you happened to be in the shower. If you have to drop whatever you're doing to help her twenty-four hours a day, then you can be considered whipped.
Don't Ditch Your Buddies
Your place used to be your own domain where you could do pretty much whatever you felt like.
If you wanted to leave your clothes all over the place or pile up dirty dishes you could. Well with your lady friend by your side, you will probably have the cleanest house on the block. You can no longer buy expensive sound equipment or other bachelor pad items. You now do the dishes and do the laundry regularly. Plants and bright colors have infiltrated your pad. What happened to all the sports memorabilia and beer accessories?
Do your friends constantly harass you and make you the center of their jokes? Well that's because you are whipped and can do two things to change that. Stand up for yourself or get rid of the girl. A man should be able to do or say whatever he desires. If you have to change to be with a girl, then that girl is not for you. Be yourself and if she doesn't like it then move on.
