Ok, hold on... What was Nintendo doing when they named this thing? Perhaps the creative team over in Japan sat in a room for days on end trying to think up the oddest name ever for a new device. Or maybe having a lower case 'I' in your name is the new essence of cool. Who knows?
All New Wii
The Wii is the latest-and- greatest gaming system debuted by Nintendo over the holiday season. After getting my hands on one a few weeks ago, I'm obsessed. Playing video games is back to being fun again. Anyone remember the first version of Legend of Zelda? Or better yet, Tecmobowl? All you needed was two buttons and an arrow pad to do everything in the game. Today, if you want to play a game on an X-Box 360 or Playstation 3 you almost need a graduate degree in button pushing.
The ease of use is what makes the Wii great. I can play it with my 5 year-old nephew, or my mom, and both of them would have a blast. The controller is motion-sensitive, so now you just can't sit and hit buttons.
Availability of the Wii is getting better every day, but it is still ridiculously hard to find. Bribing your favorite Game Stop, or Best Buy employee might help, but your best bet is to probably hold out a little bit longer. It will set you back around $250, but it is worth every penny.
