Bamboo Beautiful
Ever since the home design shows exploded, bamboo is everywhere.
The aesthetically stunning grass is being incorporated all over and the home is no exception. The right touch of bamboo can add an exotic, tropical feel to any room.
Bamboo can be used in unusual ways to revamp your home. Here are a few suggestions you can try.
Buy thin pieces of bamboo and cut them down to fit around a plain candle. Tie the pieces securely with some raffia to add extra appeal. Don't forget to blow out the candle if it is burning to close to the bamboo.
Exploit the grass as a plant. Put a stalk into a clear vase with river rocks. It will give any room that perfect, organic feel. Remember, Asian tradition says having an odd number of bamboo stalks on display brings luck.
Glue pieces of bamboo to a matte board and make a fun, funky photo frame.
Tie long stalks of bamboo together and cut the edges to make a place mat or a runner.
Line the sides of a corkboard with stalks of bamboo to add flair for your sticky notes and photos.
Add character to a boring table lamp by wrapping bamboo stalks around the base.
Try lying a few very tall stalks against a wall as artwork for a room.
Bamboo can add nice, little accents, but don't be afraid to go all out.
Cover a whole wall with the stalks for a Polynesian themed room.
The grass can also be used as an alternative to hardwood floors. It lasts just as long and looks even more interesting.
