Get Gorgeous!
We all know a few words from the French language: au revoir, voila, croissant, bon jour...pamplemousse? It means grapefruit but it also means a great online boutique where you can get top of the line items from all over.
Mom and daughter duo, Laura and Jane Williams, opened the doors to Pamplemousse in 1998 in Northville because they wanted to "provide a local source for high-quality bath and body products from all over the world -- products that were not commonly available in the Metro Detroit area," Laura told me. "My daughter went to college in NYC and had used many of the wonderful lines we carry while there, but at that time nobody in our area carried them."
Though they decided to close the doors to their physical boutique, they opened a website that is just as lovely. They sell products that we're already familiar with, like Burt's Bees and Dirty Girl, but they also import unique items from places like New York City and France. They even include a list of
Oprah's Favorites. You can pretty much find anything you need from candles to essential oils and from perfume to jewelry.
Lucky magazine even proclaimed it a "Lucky Shops Here" destination and Allure magazine included it in their holiday shopping guide. It just goes to show you that even a grapefruit can be fabulous. Just say it in French and pair it with the best in bath and beauty from all over the world and you've got one sweet deal.
