Cover Up!
It seemed like a good idea at the time, right? A tattoo that you got with your girlfriends after a night of drinking, always does.

And then you have to find a job. It's a problem when you're going for a job interview and you've got to look your best, but your tattoo is in a spot that's hard to cover up. Not to worry! I've got some tips to help you out.

Obviously, if you're planning to get a tattoo, do not get it in a spot that is out in the open and hard to hide. Stay away from tattoos on the hands, wrists, neck, face, and perhaps the ankles and calves as well, depending on the place and the uniform or dress code. These places are near impossible to cover up and won't bode well with a possible employer.

In less obtrusive spots, like shoulders, back, chest, and legs, just be mindful of your clothing. Most likely your clothes will cover up your tattoos without even having to think about it. I remember an episode of TLC's Miami Ink where one of their customers was a businessman with pretty much full body tattoos that went up to, but not past, his wrists, ankles and neck, but you couldn't see them at all because of the clothes he wore.

If clothes don't fully cover it or you are dead set on getting a more visible tattoo, then try covering it up with makeup. I don't mean grab any old foundation; you need one that will last all day and stay in place. Dermablend is the top product on the market and it can cover up everything from scars to birthmarks to that tattoo you just had to get on Spring Break '04. They can match any skin tone so it'll look like you don't even have a tattoo.

My last tip is to always make sure you find out a company's policy regarding tattoos beforehand. Sometimes you'll find that the employer is very lenient regarding tattoos so you might not have anything to worry about, but many times this will not be the case. Just be aware of the situation and dress accordingly.
