BRIX OPENS WITH WINE, MEAT AND CHEESE

Detroit wine lovers rejoice! Brix Wine & Charcuterie Boutique is set to open their doors on August 17 and in celebration of their opening weekend, they’re offering free wine tastings with 1-2 oz. pours in their vault. The space takes over the old Michigan Savings Bank in the West Village.

The idea behind Brix is to provide a vibrant, comfortable place for friends, new and old, to relax, sip wine, try different meats and cheeses, and make memories. Their wine list consists of moderately priced wines from all over the world and their charcuterie menu will vary but always offer savory olives, cheeses, cured meats and a few different in-house specialties.

The space can seat about 40 guests inside with both bar and table seating. Brix also has a private lounge area, with a charcuterie and high-end wine bottle service that sits in the refurbished bank vault. The interior includes rich and dark wood furnishing, with simple lighting and a modern feel.

The celebration wine tastings are scheduled as follows:

August 17 – Joseph Carr wines
August 18 – Italian wines (domestic and imports)
August 19 – Rosé

The tastings start at 4 p.m. and last until 1 a.m. August 17-19.

The spot is open from Thursday to Saturday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., and eventually they’ll add extended hours and a patio for an even better wine experience.

Visit Brix in the West Village at 7968 Kercheval Ave. and stay up to date with them on Facebook here.
