BBQ Throwdown

Join us for the BBQ ThrowDown formally known as “Pork in the Park” in Downtown Wyandotte in a NEW location on the waterfront near Bishop Park in Downtown Wyandotte.

For the third year, the Wyandotte Business Association will be hosting a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned event. This will be a traditional sanctioned event, which requires the teams to cook 4 meats: Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork Butt, & Beef Brisket to be judged.

Friday evening the event will kick off with Mayor Joe Peterson’s Rib ThrowDown from 5p.m. – 10 p.m. Locals residents will fire up their grills and complete for the BEST BACKYARD BBQ RIBS! Guests will get to sample a variety or ribs from local restaurants / food trucks and, watch the BBQ teams prep for Saturdays, competition, listen to live bands and enjoy an ice-cold brew! Atomic Radio Band will be performing live 6:30pm. – 10p.m.

On Saturday, KCBS tournament will take place. The event will run from 12 noon to 9pm. Guests will be invited to watch the teams prepare their food for the judges, sample or buy full menu items, listen to live bands and drink cold beer.
