Farmington Founders Festival

From classic rock ‘n ‘roll to fine cuisine, the Greater Farmington Founders Festival is the can’t-miss event!

A favorite in Southeast Michigan, the Farmington Founders Festival began as a tribute to the city’s unique Quaker heritage that thousands of people now know as a four-day weekend celebration.

Formerly the Farmington Board of Commerce, the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce has planned and organized every year since 1965 with the spirit of festival fireworks (you’ll see the real thing on Saturday night, July 22nd!). Today the festival is an exciting mix of community traditions, cultural trends, great food, music and fun.

Bosch, LLC presents the Kids STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Heat event in Shiawassee Park from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum will have a wide range of STEAM actives that will incorporate Slim and the State of Matter, Fraction, Interaction, Wind, Energy and Nanoscience. Kids will also have the chance to blow off steam during the YMCA Field Games! On Saturday, the fun with STEAM will continue in Riley Park with Mad Science Detroit where kids can prepare scientific experiments and take-home activities.

The festivities are all along Farmington Road (near Grand River Avenue). Follow the smiles and listen for the music of live bands.
