A5 Insider's Guide: Kelli Coleman
A5 Insider’s Guide: Kelli Coleman
A serial entrepreneur, Kelli Coleman, saw opportunity in Detroit and decided to capitalize on it.
Unlike most bars, TEN Nail Bar in Capitol Park offers luxury nail care and not cocktails. As a successful marketer and investor, Kelli Coleman looked at Detroit and saw an absence of personal care services for the new residents, employees and visitors downtown. Kelli and her business partner Anika Jackson, created a one-of-a-kind environment for men and women looking to a place to be pampered. With an unmistakable talent for identifying what’s hot, we asked Kelli to share her favorite places to eat, drink and play in Detroit.
EAT // Parc
I love the views of Campus Martius and all of its activity, the amazing cuisine, and perfect ambiance. I’m also super excited for the opening of Prime + Proper – The TEN Nail Bar’s Capitol Park neighbor.
DRINK // The Standby
Amazing cocktails, epic playlist, I’m always running into people I love, and it’s in the perfect location. A ‘Tick of the Clock’ and a great song is perfect any night!
PLAY // Detroit Wick
I love the energy of Eastern Market. There is so much to experience and so many diverse cultures/people represented, especially on Saturday mornings at the market. It is one of my favorite areas to show off in Detroit :). Detroitwick is an amazing destination in the market. I’m a sucker for eclectic, unique spaces with cool product offerings.
EXPERIENCE // Capitol Park
The development is happening so rapidly and there is so much to enjoy. Dining, shopping, day-to-night entertainment, seasonal events, art, and places to be pampered!
Detroit is an entrepreneurial wonderland, a distinct community of ‘doers’ with both grit and grace. I love the city for its authenticity, its various cultures and historic significance. There is no place like home.
