Beer Lovers Guide to Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest begins this weekend so raise your stein and get ready to party with fellow beer connoisseurs at beer festivals and event through October.

Oktoberfest at Batch Brauerei (September 14-16): Batch Brewing Company re-assumes it’s alter ego as Batch Brauerei for the 4th year in a row with German-style beers and food that will take you to München.

OktoBBQ (September 14 & 15): OktoBBQ is a great twist on the Bavarian-themed festival at the Royal Oa Farmers Market with live music, games, BEER & BBQ!

Barktoberfest (September 15 & 16): Barktoberfest is a fall festival for dogs and their people, centered around locally-brewed craft beer and music, this is the most dog-friendly event in town!

Parktoberfest (September 21-23):  The German-style festival will feature the Big Biergarten Tent, an impressive selection of craft, seasonal and Oktoberfest biers, ceremonial and specialty keg tappings, traditional German sausages, pretzels and other fall-inspired food. In addition, there will be live music, kids activities, traditional dance and stein-hoisting and keg lifting competitions.

Fall Zoo Brew (Friday, September 21): Zoo Brew features unique beers from select Michigan craft breweries, live music, exclusive access to the Zoo’s award-winning habitats until twilight and zookeeper talks.

Atwater Blocktoberfest (Saturday, September 22): Atwater Brewery presents our annual Bloktoberfest! Our doors open at 11:00am with events officially starting at 1:00pm.

Motor City Bike & Brew Tour (Sunday, September 23): Detroit history themed bike tours include experienced and knowledgeable tour guides, relaxed riding pace for all biking abilities, small riding groups, Michigan beer and food.

St. Joseph Oktoberfest (Sunday, September 23): This free festival is fun for the whole family.

Octobeerfest Detroit (Saturday, September 29):  A celebration of beer, fall, and the kickoff of hockey season. Enjoy live music from The Reefermen, The Whiskey Charmers and Karaoke with Robby Rob. There will also be fall themed entertainment and activities and plenty of swag.

Growler Gallop Atwater (Sunday, September 30): The Growler Gallop is a 10 mile race and a 5K race starting and finishing at The Famous Atwater Brewery in Downtown Detroit!

OktoBEER Festival (Friday, October 5): You don’t want to miss out on OktoBEER Festival offering a Funky Ferndale twist on a traditional favorite festival theme!

Boatoberfest Cruise (Saturday, October 6): Come out and enjoy a cruise along the Detroit River on the Detroit Princess Riverboat while sampling 35+ seasonal beers & hard ciders from Michigan & beyond!

Oktoberfest at Detroit Fleat (Saturday, October 6): Come sample some of the best fall beers that our brewery friends have to offer!

Polkatoberfest at The Corner (Saturday, October 13): PolkatoberFest at the Corner, a delicious day of great Polish and German food, polka music and classic rock hits performed live, beer from Founder’s Brewing Company and select Polish breweries, shopping vendors, a pierogi eating competition, children’s activities and more.

Motor City Gears and Beers (Saturday, October 13): Experience some of Detroit’s most notorious and interesting bars, watering holes and breweries by bike!

GIVEAWAY – Michigan Craft Beer Stroll (Saturday, October 13): Guests will sample beer from Michigan’s top breweries and food from top restaurants and venues as they explore downtown Royal Oak!

Detroit Boat Club Beer Fest (Saturday, October 13): This indoor/outdoor fall beer fest allows you enjoy the view of the Belle Isle Bridge from the two acre lawn and explore the club’s history with beer sampling stations in the ballroom, balcony patio overlooking the river, the dance hall, and more!

Brew & Fall Fest (Saturday, October 13): Jimmy John’s Field in historic downtown Utica, Michigan, will be hosting its Third Annual Brew & Fall Fest!

Pizza & Brew Fest (Saturday, October 13): A special foodie celebration devoted to the beloved pizza pie!

Detroit Beer Book History Talk (Tuesday, October 23): Free Detroit Beer Book – History Talk featuring Stephen Johnson the author of “Detroit Beer – A History of Brewing in the Motor City” and owner of Motor City Brew Tours!

Motor City Bike & Brew Tours (Tuesday, October 23): Detroit history themed bike tours include experienced and knowledgeable tour guides with relaxed riding pace for all biking abilities!

MI Brewers Guild 10th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival (October 26 & 27): Craft beer fans converge on Eastern Market for one of the largest all-Michigan beer tastings in the state!
