Coming Soon – Guide to 2018 Restaurant Openings

Start making reservations because these 2018 restaurants are going to attract a waitlist.

Local favorites Rose’s Fine Food, Grey Ghost and the Detroit Optimist Society are trying something new in the new year. New buildings mean new restaurants at the Siren Hotel and The Selden. And there are some newcomers too – husband and wife team, Rachel and Paul are opening a brewery in Islandview.

 

Flowers of Vietnam

Flowers Of Vietnam is located at Vernor Coney Island in Southwest Detroit. Emphasizing on traditional Vietnamese cuisine and Golden Feels, the popular restaurant reopens with additional space. OPEN

 

Willis Show Bar

Detroit Optimist Society is at it again and bringing something new (and old) to the Cass Corridor. Willis Show Bar will offer a 1960s inspired cocktail menu and live performances by jazz, blues and soul artists. Opening: January

The Farmer Hand is expanding its cafe to its own space at the corner. Get breakfast, lunch or dessert at their ice cream counter. Opening: March

 

Marrow

Evoking old world practices, Marrow is a neighborhood restaurant and butcher shop located in the heart of West Village in Detroit.. Opening: May/June

 

Albena Detroit

The Siren Hotel is opening in the Wurlitzer building and Albena Detroit will be a unique eight-seat tasting menu-only designed by Chef Garrett Lipar. Opening: January

 

 SheWolf Pastificio & Bar

Chef Anthony Lombardo is bringing Roman inspired cuisine to The Selden  – a new condo development in the Cass Corridor. Opening: Early 2018

 

Cork & Gable 
2415 Michigan Ave Detroit, MI 48216 (Corktown)
Cork & Gabel’s name is derived from a combination of gabel, the German word for fork, and cork, a nod to the restaurant’s location in Corktown.  The idea for this fusion stems from Executive Chef Matthew McGrail’s, Irish and Italian heritage and owner Joe Mifsud passion for German food. Opening: April 2018

Rose’s Fine Food founders are expanding to New Center with a counter service restaurant named for their great-grandmother. Opening: TBD
