Many of us still mourn our 11th birthdays when our letter from Hogwarts didn’t arrive. No Sorting Ceremony and no Triwizard Tournament. But, our second chance is here.
The Michigan Science Center invites Muggles, Witches and Wizards alike to enjoy a night of wizardry and wonder as we celebrate the release of the newest JK Rowling film: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Muggles, Witches and Wizards will enjoy:
Potions Class: As you know, all newly-invented spells must be observed by members of the Ministry to determine whether they will receive the Ministry Seal of Approval. Witness witches and wizards perform incredible acts of “magic.”
Astronomy Class: Enjoy a class among the stars as we explore the constellations that inspired the names of some of our favorite Wizards.
Care of Magical Creatures: With the help of Lou’s Pet Shop, we will learn all about the Earth’s fantastic beasts, and where we can find them. Creatures include: alligator, snapping turtle, 10 foot Burmese Python, Tarantula and a few more surprises!
Magic Muscles: Cast the Imperius Curse and witness electrical impulses as one wizard’s muscle movement magically controls another’s muscle movement. Move your arm and they’ll move theirs!
Scented Science: He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named doesn’t have a nose … which limits his sense of taste. Try delicious jelly beans, plugged and unplugged, and compare how well you can savor the flavors.
