The Detroit Actor’s Theatre Company announces its 9th season opener, “Broke-ology” by Nathan Louis Jackson. “Broke-ology” is about the King family who have weathered the hardships of life and survived with their love for each other intact. The father lives in the house the boys grew up in. He’s alone, but he maintains his allegiance with their mother in his own way. When the brothers are called home to take care of him, they find themselves strangely at odds.
The show stars local Detroit artists Victoria Weatherspoon (Sonia King), Taurean Hogan (William King), Miles Bond (Malcolm King) and Jesse Boyd Williams (Ennis King). This production is under the direction of DATC Artistic Director Mindy Grissom. There will be seven performances beginning Nov 8-9, 16-18, 22-23, all shows are at 8:00pm. All seating is general seating; house opens 30 minutes prior to showtime. All performances will be presented inside the Blueprint Theatre (formerly the Blueprint Building), located at 892 West Baltimore St, Detroit MI 48202 near Detroit’s New Center area.
