Former NFL player and magician, Jon Dorenbos makes his MGM Grand Detroit debut at the MGM Grand Detroit Event Center Saturday, July 18 at 8 p.m. This highly interactive show blends mind-blowing slight-of-hand magic, tales from Jon’s heartbreaking past and inspiration from his 14 year NFL career while weaving in comedy and anecdotes about his life-long love of magic.
Jon got into magic just before his 13th birthday and placed third on the 11th season of America’s Got Talent where Simon Cowell called him, “an entertaining genius.” He then put his talent on display as a guest on Ellen, who quickly became one of his biggest fans.
Known for his great sense of humor and positive outlook on life, Jon uses his skills as a magician and his incredible life story to inspire audiences around the world. He retired from the NFL after he was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition requiring emergency open-heart surgery. He wrote a book entitled Life Is Magic that draws a roadmap for how to shut that self-doubting voice up by choosing happiness.
