Rachmaninoff’s Paganini Var

Music Director Laureate Leonard Slatkin returns to the Orchestra Hall stage for an exciting Classical Series season finale. The program begins with the world premiere of Oil & Water by Juliet Palmer, winner of the DSO’s Elaine Lebenbom Award for Female Composers. Then, pianist Makoto Ozone—renowned in both the jazz and classical worlds—tackles Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, and Slatkin leads the DSO in Bartók’s dazzling Concerto for Orchestra.
