Schumann’s “Spring”

Trumpets begin Schumann’s First Symphony announcing an awakening – Spring! The air is filled with sounds of a world turning green as everything bursts to life. Woven with the colors and vitality of Winter’s end, Schumann sought to cure our longing for a new season. Hannu Lintu leads the DSO on a program featuring Ray Chen, one of the most compelling young violinists today who’s sparking his own musical awakening, with millions of followers online.
