Ford’s Garage just opened their first Michigan location and we promise, the menu is as big as the name. The restaurant pays tribute to Henry Ford and the first one came out of Fort Myers, Florida in 2012, which is near where Henry Ford and Thomas Edison spent the winter months.

The idea of Ford’s Garage is to resemble something like a 1920’s service station and your neighborhood burger joint mashed up.

Local products are huge on the menu, with Michigan craft beers and other soft drinks, and the restaurant grounds are decorated with Model As and Model Ts from the ‘20s and ‘30s.

They’ve got beers on tap and beers by the bottle with a big enough selection to keep you coming back to the bar, and you can start with their Giant Funnel Tower of Jumbo Piston Onion Rings or their Edsel’s Hot Pretzels.

You can also order Deep Fried Dill Pickle Chips, Sushi Grade Ahi Tuna or BBQ Pork Nachos to start, right before you make your way down the rest of the menu.

Choose from salads like the Traditional Caesar Salad, Citrus Mandarin Salad or the Ford’s Chop-Shop Salad, made with mixed greens, cucumber, tomatoes, onion, shredded cheese, hard boiled egg, chick peas and bacon. To “Rev Up Your Salad”, add a grilled whole portobello mushroom, a grilled marinated fresh chicken breast, a USDA black angus beef patty, grilled or blackened shrimp or sushi grade ahi tuna.

They’ve got a variety of burgers on the menu and they’re even referred to as Burgers of Fame, including the Model “A” (black angus burger with aged sharp cheddar, bacon, pico, fried egg and more), Ford’s Signature, and the Patty Melt (black angus, baby swiss cheese, caramelized onions, 1,000 Island dressing, toasted rye bread).

The menu has a Comfort Foods portion, including fish and chips and a pulled pork sandwich, and they also have a Mac Bar, with options like Maine Lobster Mac N’ Cheese, Cajun Chick N’ Shrimp Mac and more. You can pair your dishes with any of their Side Cars, like their classic french fries or their Truffle Fries or Homemade Baked Beans.

We know you’re full just reading this, but you can’t forget about dessert! The “Top it Off” portion of the menu showcases their Mom’s “Secret Recipe” Rum Cake, Funnel Cake Fries and Warm Brownie Sundae. shakes, floats and fountain drinks are also on the menu.
