It’s almost time for Halloween in Detroit! We’ve got music, food, drinks and spooky shenanigans on this year’s guide. Take a look and start planning out your costumes for a fun night out.
Alger Halloween Show & Dance Party – October 27
For years people have been asking those at the Alger Theater to screen The Rocky Horror Picture Show and they’ve delivered! See the show and enjoy the dance party after with beer, wine, food trucks, a DJ and more.
TICKETS: There’s a suggested donation of $10 to support the Friends of the Alger Theater and you can RSVP for the event by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Fox Creek Partners Multi-use venue is located at 1021 Manistique and E. Jefferson.
Farm-To-Table Dinner at Revolver – October 28
Mac Stinson and David Zarling are teaming up for Revolver’s Farm-To-Table Dinner with entirely local organic produce. The guys will also be milling their own grains, fermenting and pickling their own ingredients and crafting their own charcuterie and sausage. This dinner is DIY and old school at its finest.
There are two seatings, one at 6 p.m. and the other at 9 p.m.

Creepy Cheapy IX at The Crofoot – October 28
Hang out Halloween-style at Creepy Cheapy with costumed cover bands such as Shapes and Colors as My Chemical Romance, Go Tiger Go as Miley Cyrus, Those Hounds as Queens Of The Stone Age, Tripp N Dixie as Aerosmith, Courtney and The Hurleys as Dolly Parton, Messenger Birds as White Stripes and many more.
TICKETS: Tickets can be purchased here in advance for $5 and the night kicks off at 7 p.m.

Dia De Los Muertos at The Garden Theater – October 28
Mojo in the Morning and Channel 955 are hosting one of Halloween’s biggest events- Dia De Los Muertos. Guests have the chance to win $1,500 in cash prizes and watch stilt walkers, CO2 Cryo Jets, special effects and more. DJs Boji and Paul Martindale will provide the entertainment along with live performances by NUCLASSICA and a live percussionist. Day of the Dead costume attire is preferred but a Halloween costume is required for entry.
TICKETS: Tickets range from $25-$45 for individuals and group and booth prices are also available here. Doors open at 8 p.m.

2016 Boo Bash at The Royal Oak Music Theatre – October 28
Put on your best Halloween costume and prepare for 2016’s Boo Bash. The evening features the Killer Flamingos, drink vouchers and dancing. Costumes are mandatory.

Paxahau and Marble Bar’s ‘Get Yo Bug On 2’ at Marble Bar – October 28
Spend your Friday night at Paxahau and Marble Bar’s big event- Get Yo Bug On 2 with Steve Bug. The event is supported by Mister Joshooa, Loren and more the night includes a costume contest and wild entertainment.

‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Halloween Party & Movie Night at HopCat Detroit – October 28
If you like good draft beers, meads, ciders, cult classic movies and Halloween, you’ll want to pop into HopCat for their movie night. They’re playing Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas from 1993 on the Huma Room big screen with a Nightmare Before Christmas costume contest post-movie. Dress as your favorite character, they’ll pick the winner and prizes will be available.

Fright Night at Kit and Ace – October 28
If you’re looking to get into the Halloween spirit, and wouldn’t mind shopping while you’re at it, make sure to RSVP to Kit and Ace’s Fright Night. They’ll be screening Young Frankenstein with popcorn, Halloween-themed drinks and candy. The event kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

Halloween Party at Jolly Pumpkin – October 29
The first ever Jolly Pumpkin Halloween Party will feature costume contests, prizes, a dance floor, DJ, surprise, drinks specials and more. Order the La Parcella Beer Flight, featuring four beers for $12, or try the Scary Spice cocktail, created specially with vanilla-infused vodka, pumpkin puree and cinnamon. Haunted Kingdom Halloween at The Haunted Kingdom – October 29
Spend your Halloween partying with ghouls, goblins, Detroit’s best DJs, dancers, performers, entertainers, treats, cirque-style performances and more. Come as your favorite movie character and you could win the first place costume prize of $1,000.

Vonderland at V Nightclub – October 29
Show up in your most creative costume and have a chance at winning the $1,000 grand prize. Enjoy entertainment by SKAM artist DJ CAPTN20, drinks, dancing and more this Halloween weekend.

Halloween Party and Costume Contest at Punch Bowl Social – October 29
Hold off on your Saturday morning cartoons until Saturday night for Punch Bowl Social’s cartoon-themed Halloween bash! The night includes a DJ, Halloween costume contest for best cartoon costume, food specials and more. You’ll also get a taste of the Pumpkin Spiced Libation, a punch with blended bourbon, St. Elizabeth All Space Dram, pumpkin juice, apple juice and citrus flavors.

Monster’s Ball Detroit at The Fillmore – October 29
This annual favorite includes stilt walkers, acrobats, flying fire, performers, fortune tellers and much more. DJs Al Neon, A.Wolve, Tommy Holiday, Dash and Mixta will be going until 2 a.m. and both general admission and VIP packages can be purchased.

Devil’s Night at TV Lounge – October 30
One of Detroit’s biggest Halloween parties is set for Devil’s Night at TV Lounge. The party includes indoor and outdoor DJs and bars, hookah, bottle service, booth reservations and a $250 costume contest.

Spooky Sunday Bus Tour – October 30
Leave your comfortable Midtown and Downtown surroundings and venture off on a bus tour full of macabre tales of both Detroit tragedy and terror. The tour will take you through a cemetery, past a fort, and ghost stories will haunt the ride.
TICKETS: Tricks, treats and a bar stop are included in the tour. Drinks not included. The tour runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and kicks off at Anchor Bar. Tickets are priced at $42 and can be purchased here.

Halloween Harvest Dinner at Rock City Eatery – October 31
If you know and love Rock City Eatery like the rest of us, make a reservation for their big Harvest Dinner at their new Midtown location. Enjoy pie flights, five courses, paired with boozy fall time beverages, squash bisque, parsnip risotto and plenty more.
TICKETS: Tickets go for $100 and the dinner kicks off at 7 p.m. Reservations are necessary and costumes are recommended.

98.7 AMP Radio Boo Bash at The Fillmore – October 31
The third annual Boo Bash, presented by 98.7 AMP Radio, is Detroit’s largest EDM Halloween Costume Party. The show is for all ages and scheduled for Halloween night with Diplo and Dillon Francis as the entertainment.
