While the Broderick Tower opened its doors to the first residential tenants at the end of 2012, they’ve kept us all waiting to see the big unveil of the Broderick Grille that exterior signs promised to open.

And…the wait was finally over!

The Broderick Grille, a new restaurant located on the first floor of the David Broderick Tower, opened on March 22 on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Witherell Street.

The restaurant includes an open kitchen with a mezzanine level that embodies a calm, contemporary interior with seating capacity of 150 guests.

The menu isn’t huge, but it is hearty and it’s sure to hit what you’re looking for pre-game (located just around the corner from Comerica Park) or a date night out. Appetizers range from mac and cheese croquettes and flatbreads, to lamb lollipops and salmon rangoons. The salads and burgers are delicious, but their entrees are unique in their preparations, yet familiar in a delicious way. If you like bacon, get their pork chops and if you’re vegetarian (or not), the Rissotto with white wine, parmesan, basil, pesto and cherry tomatoes is making our mouth water just reading this!

Chef David Parker, who reigns from Chandler’s in Petoskey, then Roast in Detroit already has his eyes set on expanding the menu with soups and desserts in the coming weeks.

The Broderick Grille is currently open from 8 a.m., with fast and easy breakfast and coffee service available for those on the go, until 10 p.m. Pastries, grab-and-go sandwiches and a full service coffee bar are available early before dining service opens in the restaurant’s treat space tucked in the corner.

Additionally, one side of the restaurant hosts their bar, which is scheduled to stay open later for guests in the future.

But stay tuned for more news from The Broderick Tower, whose future includes a French-inspired wine bar, rumored to be named “The Cave”, and a craft beer hall with a German feel.

Stop in at 1570 Woodward Ave. to visit The Broderick Grille and find them on Facebook for progress updates.
