MAC N’ BREWZ OPENS IN MIDTOWN

Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Brewz opens in Midtown as the third brand by award-winning chef Lorraine Platman of Sweet Lorraine’s Café & Bar and Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Cheez.

Mac n’ Brewz promises all-natural, homemade breakfast wraps and pastries, organic coffee and tea, all-natural pop from Northwoods Soda & Syrup Co Inc., in addition to wine, cocktails and more than 30 Michigan-brewed craft beers.

The space sits on the corner of Cass Avenue and West Warren and aims to be price-conscious with an average lunch or dinner priced at $8 and an available “mini meal” with mac and cheese, a soup and a salad or a wrap for $10.

But these aren’t your standard macaroni dishes! The menu features 15 of Platman’s special macaroni and cheese dishes made with Amish-sourced cheeses, including a Detroit Coney Dog Mac, Extreme Veggie Mac, Pepperoni Pizza Mac and Cajun Shrimp Mac. All macaroni dishes are available in either mini or mega sizes.

Other items on the menu include a vegan Bangkok Tofu-Peanut wrap, a Milano Pesto Shrimp wrap, a Mediterranean Shrimp Pasta salad and daily specials of soups and chili.

Pabst Blue Ribbon and Budweiser will also be on the menu to cater to the college crowd with an additional carryout service for breakfast, lunch and dinner for all interested.

It’s a funky, yet modern atmosphere inside, with room to seat 88 people with the cuisine offered through a cafeteria-style ordering line. With inspiration coming from 1950’s design, the decor follows suit with both communal and separate table seating throughout the space.
