Grosse Ile IslandFest

From its very humble beginnings at Westcroft Gardens in 1984 IslandFest has grown to be one of the largest and most well attended festivals in the area.  Annual favorites, like the TAILS auction and Jazzapalooza have been part of the festivities for over ten years. Many activities have been part of the Festival from the start; the Macomb Street Parade, arts and craft show, and the carnival.


Birmingham Villae Fair

Fairy Tale Festival

This year, Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men will take you on an adventure around the grounds of the historic estate, which will be transformed into Nottingham and Sherwood Forest! At the festival, you can immerse yourself in the classic tale with performances, music, games, storytelling, puppet shows, activities and more.  Be on the lookout for the sheriff, or you may spend time in the stockade! Is there an outlaw on the loose? See if you can find out where Robin and his jolly gang have been hiding out. Take part in archery, a traditional Maypole dance, stilt-walking, crafts, pony rides, and other fun activities inspired by the legend of Robin Hood.


Trenton Summer Festival

Over 100,000 visitors, over 200 artists, craftsmen and many of your favorite festival food vendors for our annual Trenton Summer Festival! Detroit Institute of Arts will be offering fun and accessible art-making drop-in workshops! Art projects rotate throughout the year, focusing on current exhibitions, creative work from different cultures, various techniques, and concepts of identity –all designed to be completed within 15 minutes to an hour.


Taylor Summer Fest

2018 Independence Fest (Clarkston)

@ Clintonwood Park
Bring your friends and family to Clintonwood Park, 11am, where we honor tradition, family-time and our troops.  There will be over 10 carnival style games and over 6 inflatables for your child’s enjoyment. Fireworks show is at 10 pm.


Gibraltar July 4th Festival

@ Gibraltar Community Center
Activities at the Community Center and Park will follow the parade. Events will include amusement rides, music, food vendors, bingo, craft vendors, beer tent, a petting farm, face painting, and a clown show ending with the annual fireworks display on the 4th.


Michigan Lavender Festival

The Michigan Lavender Festival is proud to be a “Made-In-Michigan” Event, featuring over 100 Michigan artists, craftspeople and local area farms. Festival highlights include lavender workshops, wellness classes, U-pick orchard fruit and wagon rides to tour the farm & orchards.


Detroit Kite Festival

The Detroit Kite Festival is completely free, and no tickets are necessary. It will feature on-site kite making and kite-related activities, professional kite flyers, with participation from local businesses and organizations.


Dearborn Homecoming Festival

@ Ford Field Park
Homecoming offers free stage entertainment, free family activities, carnival rides, lots of food, corn hole tournament, 5K and family fun run, and two nights of outstanding fireworks.


Michigan State Fair
Thursday, August 30 – Monday, September 3
@ Suburban Collection Showplace
The State Fair celebrate the agricultural traditions of Michigan by showcasing fresh produce, live stock and locally produced items. Families can also enjoy a carnival, circus and more!
