New Order Coffee Roasters, a small batch coffee roasting spot, will help wake up Midtown on July 19 with whimsical drinks and sweet and savory treats.

A revolving lineup of some of the world’s most flavorful beans will be roasted on site in nano-batches and each customer order will be prepared individually by the cup and preferred brew method.

This isn’t your average Detroit coffee spot; you can order drinks like the Cereal Milk latte, lattes with flavor-infused homemade marshmallows and M&M ganache. New Order Coffee also offers sweet and savory pastries, specialty foods and candies and a variety of curated coffee gear.

The space is about 2,000 square feet and promises a fresh take on coffee service where guests are able to choose their brew method, or they’re able to create interactive custom roasts with New Order’s cutting edge program. New Order Coffee can seat about 60 guests with their heated indoor and outdoor patio and they also have a semi-private conference room, making the space even more available to Detroiters. Adventurous coffee drinkers interested in the program will even be able to work directly with roasters to create their own roast to take home.

The coffee shop is also quite the sight with their bright look and pops of their signature aqua and orange. There’s also a 6-seat laptop bar along Woodward and a 24- seat heated patio with open-air windows facing Watson Street. Meeting rentals are also available, with an 8-seat space equipped with audio and visual capabilities, which is semi-private for productivity.

Elizabeth Rose, coffee veteran, leads New Order Coffee, with Patrick Sweeney running the roasting program, Tyler Martin overseeing daily operations, Hannah St. Onge running the daily operations, and Chris Glasier overseeing the output of the New Order Coffee Lab. The coffee shop will also employ ten seasoned baristas.

Their location, 3100 Woodward Ave., is the first for the café and as such, it will serve as their flagship location. New Order Coffee Roasters will be on the ground floor of Midtown’s Crystal Loft Building and neaer Grey Ghost Detroit. They’re looking to expand over the next few years around the metro Detroit area.
