The Line-up: Concert of Colors

The Concert of Colors is an annual celebration of diversity in Detroit with free concerts and activities all weekend. 

Concert of Colors is July 11th-15th. Start making plans for the free concerts, dance + yoga class and a LATE night After Party. Here are 5 events you don’t want to miss and the full concert line-up.

  1. Concert of Colors Kick-Off @ Third Man Records
    Wednesday, July 11th @ 5pm to 8pm
    A special guest DJ will kick-off the Concert of Colors at Jack White’s Third Man Records on Midtown’s popular Canfield Street. Cousin Mouth (6:30pm) and Title (7:30pm) will also perform.
  2. Don Was Detroit All-Star Revue @ Detroit Film Theatre
    Wednesday, July 11th @ 7:30pm
    Grammy Award-winning producer Don Was and WDET Essential Music host Ann Delisi will go through rarely-seen video recordings by director Gemma Corfield, featuring legendary Detroit artists participating in the annual Concert of Colors All-Star Revue.
  3. Concert of Colors Official After Party @ Detroit Historical Museum
    Friday, July 13th @ 11pm to 1am
    Experience our latest exhibitions, including the award-winning Detroit 67: Perspectives and the new exhibit The Year of the Tiger: 1968 and party the night away with DJ Mo Fresh. Light snacks and beverages will be available for purchase at this free event.
  4. Detroit Community Yoga @ Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center
    Saturday, July 14th @ 4:30pm 
    Enjoy a sound bath while moving through an all-levels, all-ages hatha yoga class. Let the music wash over you as you move your body and breathe! Comfortable clothing, yoga mat, water bottle and signed liability waiver required.
  5. Dance Class with Iyawo Folkloric Dance Theatere @ Scarab Club
    Sunday, July 15th @ 1pm
    Iyawo Dance Theatre is a drum and dance troupe that explores movement and music of the African and Caribbean diaspora. Founder Lisa McCall has taught around the world and will lead a class designed for all experience level
