Kit and Ace, the Vancouver-based “athleisure” brand, embarks on phase two of their Detroit presence with their new Downtown location at 1459 Woodward Ave, with durable, Technical Cashmere clothing for both men and women.

The first spot, located in Midtown on Cass Avenue, closed on June 9 to make way for the new bigger and brighter Downtown showroom, which is 3,337-square feet. Kit and Ace is a Bedrock Detroit property and the new showroom is within walking distance of both the new Nike Community Store and John Varvatos.

JJ Wilson and his stepmother Shannon Wilson co-founded the brand in 2014 as a way to offer clothing for today’s full-contact life. The idea is that Kit and Ace clothing can meet any of the day’s demands by combining the best principles of athletic design with stylish, wearable clothing.

The store is welcoming, with clothing items presented both on mannequins and on hanging racks throughout the space, in addition to shelves with accessories and dressing rooms.

The brand, which was developed by the same family who cofounded Lululemon, provides fashionable clothing that’s made of fabric that is not only soft and stretchy, but durable and machine washable.

Pants, shorts, shirts, polos, sweaters, swimwear, dresses and more are available at Kit and Ace, with prices ranging from $70-$250. The clothes are designed to accommodate performance and functionality.
